Weekend Update

I had the most wonderful weekend! On Friday me and my two best friends traveled to the deepest pits of Toronto to see a Michael Jackson/Jackson 5 cover band. I myself am not a big Michael Jackson fan but it was for my friends birthday so it was up to her. I had a suprisingly good time given the fact that I wasn't even drinking! The energy was so cool at the club. Everyone danced to the music and no guys were coming up behind you to rub their crotch on you which is always a bonus if you ask me. It was so fun and carefree and I got to do it with my best friends.

Saturday me and the boyfriend travelled to Missisauga to spend the night in a hotel and see a play. Although the play was only okay I had so much fun getting away with him. The next day we went to Playdium (a giant arcade) and played the afternoon away. I'm pretty pathetic at most things but I beat him at motorcycle racing. Booyah. After that we saw Spiderman and the moral of that story is: I want to be Emma Stone.

It was such a wonderful weekend! Now I've got to get my head back into school work. I have an essay due this Friday, a quiz on Monday and a final exam next Friday and then I'm free!

Hope the weekend brought as many happy memories for everyone else!

Life Lately

Here's whats new in my life: I'm addicted to iced green tea, watermelon is by far my favourite summer snack and on Wednesday some lady rear-ended me on the highway. Yup. That just about sums it up. Wanna hear some details? Fineeee. So I was sitting in stopped traffic just minding my own business and singing along to Led Zeppelin's "Hey, Hey What Can I Do?" and just when my favourite part came on...BAM! Some lady smacked into the back of my car! I screamed in terror and we pulled over to the side. I was shaking so much and when I got out I called my sister right away and for some reason started crying. After I got over that I checked out my car...well it wasn't even my car...it's my stepdads car. It seemed okay but the lady who hit me had a dent in her fender. Side note: my stepdads car is an overpriced, snotty little luxury car that for some reason probably makes him feel more important when he drives it but makes me feel like some elitist asshole. Two years ago about a month after he got it I was turning a corner, slid on an ice patch and hit a tree. I put a HUGE dent in the door and I thought my stepdad was going to disown me. It cost me $3,300 dollars! It took me FOREVER to pay them back. Moral of the story is...the car holds some bad juju and the lady that hit me should feel very scared to feel the wrath of the step father. Anyways...everyone was okay and we exchanged information and that was that. Highly inconvenient and unnecessary but it felt good for once to not be the cause of the destruction.

Tonight is one of my bestfriends birthdays! Me and our other best friend are going to Toronto tonight to celebrate! I'm so excited! I love the city and I'm so excited to have a girls night out on the town.

That's all for now kids. Hope my story entertained you!

Sometimes I Impress Myself

And this should probably impress you to. I mean..check out this craftmanship! What's impressive is that I made it all by myself. Woot. Woot. The boyfriend was off golfing and everyone else was gone so I bit the bullet and did it myself. Actually so awesome. I know I sound like a toddler who just crossed the street on their own but hey, yah gotta enjoy these moments while yah can. I'm also very happy because my record player finally has a home and there's space for my record collection to grow!

I have an essay due this Friday which instead of working on last night I decided to start watching HBO's The Newsroom. SUCH an amazing show. It's based in a television news studio in New York City and since I worked at NBC in Kansas City last summer its incredibly interesting to me! It's also surprisingly accurate as to what news room life is like. So awesome and it really reminded me of why I want to be a television journalist. It got me so excited for the future. I don't know about you guys but sometimes it doesn't feel like the future will even happen. I forget that I have so much excitment and life ahead of me and get bogged down with my stupid daily worries. This made me want to finish my degree right now, run off to NYC and spend every second of my days working on the news. Seriously I wouldn't care if I never went home as long as I had an amazing job in the news, I would work 24/7. No lie!

Can't wait for what's to come in my life!

It's Official...I'm a Fashionista

Well...in my head I am. This is what I wore yesterday. Maybe one day I will take actually outfit photos but I would probably never ask someone to take them for me so...there instagram pics may be your only options. Deal with it. (Or don't...up to you loyal reader)

IT'S FRIDAY and I have the office to myself. Hazzah! I have decided that I won't be doing anything today because...well I don't feel like. Watching tv and answering phones. I'll catch up on Monday (maybe!). I just need a day full of doing nothing and if I have to grab that time at work...so be it. And I don't even feel bad about it! Bam.

Teen Mom is playing in the backround right now. Is anyone else worried about Farrah's mood swings? Dang. That girl goes from 0 to crazy in under 3 seconds. Shee-eshh!

Can't wait to have a weekend of fun with friends before I have to get back into school mode on Monday. 3 weeks left of school! Enjoy your weekends too pals!

Damn It Janet

I live in a city that is divided into three sub-cities. It sounds confusing, but in the beginning (that sounds so Biblical) there were three small towns and someone, somewhere decided they should all be molded into one big city. Therefore, I live in the city of Cambridge but we still call the town I live in Hespeler. Of all three of the towns, mine is the smallest. It's not a super small town, there's lots of people and my highschool had a lot of kids but of all the towns, Hespeler has the smallest downtown. It's basically two blocks of tiny shops. It's been building up recently with a cute coffee shop and a small vintage store and best of all, a little bitty half book, half record store! I stopped in the other day and found the one record I've been dying to have: The Rocky Horror Picture Show Soundtrack! It's been spinning in my room for the past couple of days and although it feels weird to listen to it when it's not Halloween I don't care! I love it! Science Fiction Double Feature is my favourite, followed closely by Damn It Janet, Rose Paint my World and Eddie!

In other news, I've changed my blog backround. What do you think? I wish I had a couch in this pattern!

I also held my first arm party yesterday thanks to the wonderful people of Forever 21 and the fabulous Betsey Johnson. Overall, a great success:
Nothing more to share. Bye now!

Today Will Forever Be Known as: Ruffle Boobs Pt II

You heard me!
Maybe I should explain myself...yesterday I wore this smashing little number:
Prettty cute huh? I know! It got "Umbrella" stuck in my head all day haha.

Today I am wearing this:
RUFFLE BOOBS PART DEUX!

Yah see where I came up with this? GOOD! Apparently when I was shopping last weekend I wasn't feeling very original. But I don't care, so there! (That rhymed) Anywhoooo today is boring as per usual. Work is a soul sucker but I get to see my friend Tessa for coffee tonight which is awesome. I've also ran out of half of my makeup and need to restock and my hair is full on cheatah right now, therefore a box of dye is necessary.

I had an exam yesterday which I feel like I may or may not have failed. It was a document test and we had to identify it. I had no idea who wrote it so I just kind of threw a bunch of possibilities in there. "It could have been...or maybe..." On top of that, I spelt all of the author's names wrong, I was only generally in the ball park.Yeah...I don't really think that's what he was looking for but hopefully he will deciefer my madness and will see that I actually did read, I'm just not very smart haha.

Oh by the way...did I mention I like bows?
BOOM. All for you baby.

Well, I do believe I have ranted enough. I'll be on my merry way now. Tah-tah.

I'm Back

Missouri was amazing! I had so much fun with everyone. They are so much like family to us that it feels like going home. It's beautiful.

Here are a few photos I took while in Missouri:

How about I walk you through these, okaaayyy? Well I got my record player! Woot woot! Its beautiful and as you can see I purchased Brothers. Unfortunately I may or may not have left said record in the car. Somehow it has been scratched and the heat warped it a little bit. I'm obviously VERY new to owning records because I didn't know it could be scratched and now basically none of the songs play all the way through. Lame. But I guess I learned my lesson.I spent LOTS of time shopping and obtained many, many necklaces and bracelets. I'm obsessed. I got festive and made some strawberries, played with cats and lounged around and basically enjoyed the laid back country lifestyle. The ride home included lots of coffee and lots of this slightly unimpressed face.

Missouri was HOT, like REALLY HOT. Not used to it, but I was complaining about the heat here before I left and now it feels very cool so there's always that. We also stopped in Chicago on the way there and I will share the photos of that soon. REAL photos taken on a REAL camera, not these instagram pics you're used to. Get excited.

Missed you guys LOTS!
